The Portland Film Festival is one of Portland’s coolest events in October. To improve attendance, the Festival has created a Portland Homestay Program. Our program offers hundreds of artists, invited guests, and speakers help in finding lodging.

Introducing Filmmakers to Portland

Many filmmakers will stay at our sponsor hotels. Some filmmakers are on tight budgets and can use a safe place to stay. Our Portland homestay program has been a fun alternative for filmmakers to stay somewhere and get a great personal experience.

The Festival is currently seeking homestays for visiting filmmakers, cast and crew. We need housing options for October 11th to 17th, although individual needs vary. Sign up to offer a filmmaker a place to stay in your home today, click here.

The generosity of hosts is an essential link to our guests’ attendance. Over the years, we had over 5,000 visiting filmmakers representing over 3800 films.

Our Portland Homestay Program offers host participants several benefits in exchange for hosting a filmmaker. Hosts can expect to get festival tickets, passes, and new friendships with talented filmmakers.

Promoting Portland and Independent Voices

Portland Film Festival is a non-profit organization dedicated to independent voices. We support filmmakers and audiences and celebrate the power of a good story. Our Portland Homestay Program is a unique opportunity for community members to meet and connect with visiting filmmakers, cast, and crew.

By offering free to low-cost housing, we aim to uphold our efforts in fostering and uplifting filmmakers. Ultimately, we hope to bring more artists and filmmakers to Portland. Independent voices are the bedrock to our culture.
