We will be connecting with filmmaker Bijoyini Chatterjee via Skype for a brief Q&A following the film.
__________

Passion for flamenco dance takes Indian-American filmmaker Bijoyini Chatterjee to Jerez, Spain. Encounters blossom into friendships as the filmmaker tries to understand the “Flamenco Syndrome”; the inexplicable seduction of flamenco song and the addiction to flamenco dance. As the music seeps into her pores, the filmmaker finds herself profoundly transformed by the songs, the dance, the people, and the landscapes. The film reflects on how to sing and dance to the songs of others and in the process reveal one’s essence.

The Portland Film Festival established itself as one of Portland’s first indie film non-profits, founded in 2013 with Portland’s first movie meetup, the Portland Film Club. Its hundreds of screenings, events, education programs, and community partnerships provide a remarkable experience for our diverse audience to connect with filmmakers working across genres and forms.
