FREE MOVIE PREVIEW of Youth (6pm)

This is your chance to get a preview of the film before it screens for the public. And the best part is that our members get in free.

WE HAVE 25 TICKETS. IT WILL BE A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE DISTRIBUTION OF TICKETS. IF YOU ARE RSVPed with another MEETUP GROUP for this same film, we will delete your RSVP with our group. Thanks.

We will not have a discussion after the meetup unless attendees wish to participate.

It’s first come first serve for tickets. This event is FREE and is limited seating. So if you are not RSVPed, please do not attend. That being said, people have been known not to make their RSVP. Check back, and use your best judgement. Don’t RSVP if you can’t make it.

YOUTH

Synopsis:

From Paolo Sorrentino, the internationally renowned writer and director of Italy’s Oscar-winning foreign language film THE GREAT BEAUTY, comes YOUTH.  Starring Michael Caine as Fred and Harvey Keitel as Mick, YOUTH explores the lifelong bond between two friends vacationing in a luxury Swiss Alps lodge as they ponder retirement. While Fred has no plans to resume his musical career despite the urging of his loving daughter Lena, Mick is intent on finishing a screenplay in what may be his last important film for his muse Brenda. Set against a sprawling landscape of unforgettable sights and intoxicating music, YOUTH asks if our most important and transformative experiences can come at any time – even late — in life.

The Portland Film Festival established itself as one of Portland’s first indie film non-profits, founded in 2013 with Portland’s first movie meetup, the Portland Film Club. Its hundreds of screenings, events, education programs, and community partnerships provide a remarkable experience for our diverse audience to connect with filmmakers working across genres and forms.
